Troubleshooting Login

If the page appears stuck or doesn't finish loading, check these conditions:

  • Browser cookies are blocked: Clear cookies or open the site in an incognito window to test if the issue resolves
  • Popup blockers are enabled: Allow popups for hypertask.ai to ensure authentication flows complete
  • Network proxy or VPN: Temporarily disable your proxy and try again

Some privacy-focused browser extensions and add-ons lock built-in Error objects to protect you from JavaScript errors. In rare cases this blocks Hypertask from properly creating error messages.

To work around this, try one of the following:

  • Disable privacy extensions during login, then re-enable them once you've signed in
  • Open Hypertask in an Incognito window with extensions disabled — this is the quickest way to verify the issue is related to an extension

Create a free account or contact your team administrator if you don't see an option to sign up.

  1. Click Log in
  2. Select Forgot password
  3. Enter your email address and follow the password-reset link sent to your inbox
  4. If you don't receive a reset email, check your spam folder or contact support

When you start a new login for a different account from the same browser:

  • All authentication cookies are properly invalidated after a sign-out (Max-Age=0)
  • New session cookies are set for the new account
  • Both Better Auth and user identity cookies are refreshed correctly
  • You're immediately redirected to a board as the new user

Your logged-in state persists across sessions; hiding or closing the browser doesn't automatically log you out unless you explicitly sign out. Authentication is verified server-side on each request via the signed ht_session cookie.

Sign-in security improvements (hypertask.ai login)

Section titled “Sign-in security improvements (hypertask.ai login)”
  • The sign-in email endpoint no longer returns verification codes or magic-link tokens to callers. This prevents callers from using the response to reset or take over an email account without direct access to the inbox.
  • Legacy API routes requiring only a non-authenticated session are now protected with signed login checks. Logged-out requests are now refused on all legacy routes, and the system uses verified ht_session cookies for all route access.
  • A valid sign-out invalidates login cookies in the browser and refreshes Better Auth sessions on the server, preventing copied or reused cookies from granting continued access after a user signs out.

Your credentials and login processes otherwise remain unchanged; simply use your email and password or the password reset flow as usual. If you receive password reset emails or confirmations, verify they were sent by hypertask.ai; invalid or forwarded reset links are not sent by Hypertask.

If none of these steps resolve your issue, you can request help from the Hypertask team.
